The mystery of the Bargain of the Year deepens...

So here's the thing. My bargain of the year may not exactly be the bargain that I thought it to be. *sigh*

Perhaps I always knew it deep down - particularly when I came home and anxiously searched the blog and web-osphere for evidence that it was indeed true that Alannah Hill would actually design shoes for someone else. However everything on the surface seem to add up.

I had the cute little red and white diagonal striped box.

The sticker on the box said Alannah Hill. Even when I pulled another sticker off that one just in case. Nup. Still Alannah Hill.

I checked the spelling of Alannah Hill. One 'l' ? Two 'l's? One or two 'n''s ?

Does she make half sizes? Yep.

And these shoes are Leather upper, lining and sole.

I had a look at her official shoe collections as far back as the web would take me. Checked out the approximate original price on the box. All good.

Ok, what about that cute metal tag attached to the bottom of my shoe. Well it seems to look like the official shoes one. I wish I had an original to compare by but as you know I am a buyer of shoes on sale being the teacher with a mortgage that I am. No full price Alannah Hill shoes here.

So then I seached Siren shoes and even then even though I couldn't find evidence of my shoes - again the label inside the shoe seemed to match up.

However, despite buying these shoes from a sale store of a regular shoe store in Westfields sadly there is a large part of me that believes these shoes are a darn good ( but eeville ) fake.

Sadness.

Sort of...;)

I am quite happy to live in the land of denial and believe what is written on the bottom of my shoe and on the box I purchased both the shoes in.

In some magical mystery Fringe alternate universe where Joshua Jackson is my husband. I bought two pairs of Alannah Hill shoes for $60. ;)

  1. Maybe the designer wished Alannah Hill designed for them......

They are still amazing shoes. :)

    1. Lol. Perhaps Michelle. Yes, they are amazingly lovely shoes. I still adore them.

Although I am slightly annoyed now that I got duped from a shoe store that has a pretty good rep.

I'm just glad I didn't pay full price for them thinking they were Alannah Hill shoes. ;)
